Veteran Righty Ace Garners Top Honors in Conference USA

Hudspeth Brings Heat and Top Award

Texas (Feb. 28, 2005) - Sophomore pitcher Casey Hudspeth has been
named the Conference USA Co-Pitcher of the Week for the period ending
Feb. 27, the league office announced
today.
Hudspeth threw eight shutout innings against Jacksonville on Friday
night, striking out nine without walking a batter. He scattered
five singles and went to an 0-1 count on 22 of 30 batters faced
and 0-2 on 14 of them.
The right-hander from Sarasota, Fla., leads the team in both innings
pitched with 23.1 and strikeouts with 32. He has posted a 2-0 record
this season in four appearances and has a 2.31 ERA.
The Bulls are currently in Hawaii to participate in the Rainbow
Baseball Tournament, hosted by the University of Hawaii. USF first
faces UC Davis at 4:30 p.m. (EDT) on Tuesday.
