HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: At Bishop O'Dowd High School played shortstop, earning 2005 and 2006 all-league and All-East Bay honors...had a career .415 batting average, including hitting .423 with six doubles, three triples, two home runs and 22 RBI as a junior...was a two-time North Coast Section Scholar-Athlete...competed in the 2005 Area Code Games and at the 2005 17U Junior World Wood Bat Association National Tournament in Marietta, Ga., helping NorCal to a co-national championship, batting .455 with a home run and nine RBI...undeclared major...father, Jeff, played minor league baseball for the Seattle Mariners...parents are Jeff and Margie Kobernus...born June 30, 1988 in San Leandro, Calif.
