HIGH SCHOOL: An outfielder for head coach Anthony Campanella at Seabreeze High School, Pigott earned honorable mention all-state honors in Class 5A last year…Selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 31st round, 938th overall, of the 2006 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft…Was named the Offensive Player of the Year after hitting .430 last spring…Was a first-team all-area and first-team all-district selection as a junior…The Sandcrabs' '05 Defensive Player of the Year batted .353 and led his club in walks (17) and doubles (six)…Ranked seventh by Baseball America on the list of the top-20 prospects for the Class of 2006 at the East Coast Professional Showcase...Participated in the Area Code Games at the West Coast Showcase and the Florida Diamond Club Showcase and improved his SPARQ rating 10 points between August and October, 2005…The SPARQ rating is a system designed to measure sport-specific athleticism and measures the tangibles of explosiveness, power and speed….During his sophomore campaign, Pigott helped Seabreeze to the district championship by hitting a team-best .373 on his way to Offensive Player of the Year, first-team all-area and first-team all-district mention…Was a member of the National Honor Society and made the Honor Roll every semester…Earned Superintendent and Principal's Awards for outstanding achievement.
