2006: Established himself as a two-way threat, as both a weekend starter on the mound and a valuable cog in the lineup ... made 16 appearances on the mound, including a team-high 15 starts ... appeared in the lineup 27 times with 16 starts (15 at DH, one in RF) ... led team with 66 strikeouts ... tied for second on squad with four wins ... did not allow an earned run in first two starts of collegiate career ... in second start, Feb. 26 vs. Army, struck out an ASU season-high 11 and scattered seven hits without giving up an earned run over seven innings to earn first-career win ... didn’t get second win until a month-and-a-half later, when he allowed three runs in 6.2 innings of work in 4-3 win over Western Carolina (April 1) ... tossed a hitless inning in only relief appearance of the season at Virginia Tech (April 12) ... evened record at 4-4 with back-to-back wins versus Wofford (5.2 IP, 3 ER, 3 H — April 15) and Furman (7.0 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 6 K) ... held The Citadel (May 6) to just one run in 7.1 innings but received no decision ... struck out seven and allowed just one earned run versus top-seeded Elon in SoCon Tournament (May 24) ... at the plate, hit safely in nine of first 14 games (.304), but got just three hits over final 19 at-bats of the season ... went season-best 3-for-3 after pinch-hitting in 13-inning win over Niagara (Feb. 25) ... drove in season-best two runs in SoCon Tournament opener versus Davidson (May 23) ... was named a Great Lakes Collegiate Summer League All-Star while playing for the Southern Ohio Copperheads in summer of ‘06.

High School: Named North Carolina 2-A Player of the Year following prolific senior season at Western Guilford H.S. in Greensboro ... named all-state as a junior and senior ... three-time all-area selection and conference MVP ... ranked fourth in the state with a miniscule 0.40 ERA as a senior ... enjoyed a better than 3-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio ... hit over .400 in junior and senior seasons ... participated in 2004 State Games ... excelled in classroom and was nominated to attend National Youth Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. ... coached by Chris Causey ... was also a football standout as a wide receiver.
