Career, Scholastic, and Collegiate Highlights:
After finishing the 2006 season as the Pennsylvania
State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division
Rookie of the Year, Matt was selected as a pre-season
All-American by Collegiate Baseball Magazine. In 2006
he tied for second in PSAC victories (7-1). In 68
innings of work, he posted a 1.99 ERA and averaged
10.9 strikeouts per nine innings. For the week of
4/9/07, Matt was named PSAC Western Division Pitcher
of the week after limiting Indiana (PA) to one run on
five hits while striking out eight. The following week
Wright threw seven shutout innings against California
(PA) while striking out eight and walking none. He has
now improved to 7-1 in eight career starts against
PSAC West opponents pitching 52 innings, and striking
out 67.
