Santa Fe Community College left handed pitcher John Lambert has been drafted by the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball in the 36th round (pick 1081), of the 2008 MLB First Year Player’s Draft.

     Lambert, a transfer from Wright St., finished the 2008 season for the Saints with a 2-4 record, a 5.58 ERA and 66 strikeouts in 59.2 innings pitched.

     The 6’7” sophomore has signed to play next season at North Carolina St. University of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Prep: Lettered all four seasons for the Trojans...selected as the team captain during his senior season...garnered All-Duneland Athletic Conference First Team honors as a junior...selected to the All-State First Team during his senior season...earned PUMA All-American honors as a senior...played for head coach Jack Campbell while at CHS...drafted in the 37th round by the Texas Rangers in the 2006 MLB First Year Player Draft.

Personal: Born John Patrick Lambert on October 11, 1987...the son of Bob and Leslie Lambert...has two brothers and one sister.
