Tom Walter, recently appointed as head coach at George Washington University will return to the Cotuit Kettleers in the summer of '98 for his second season.
Walter is a 1991 graduate of Georgetown University where he earned a bachelor's degree in finance. A four-year starting catcher for the Hoyas from 1988-91, Walter captained the team in 1990 and '91 and was a 1991 Big East Conference All-Academic Team Selection.
Following his graduation from Georgetown, Walter spent three years as an assistant coach at GW where he earned a master's degree in business. He accepted a position with the New York Yankees' Class A affiliate in Greensboro, NC, in November, 1994.
A native of Johnstown, PA, Walter was head coach of the New Market (VA) Rebels during the summer of 1994. He guided the Rebels to the 1994 Shenandoah Valley League Championship.
