COTUIT KETTLEERS

This 2004 Kettleer standout returns this summer just weeks after being drafted with the 413th overall pick in the 14th round by the Seattle Mariners. He batted a very respectable .282 in 31 games for the Kettleers in 2004, leading the team in home runs (6) and collecting 17 RBI and 7 stolen bases.

Career

Freshman Record Book Set records for first-year Wildcats in runs (71), hits (83), doubles (16), triples (8) and stolen bases (25) in 2003 ... In 2003 became Arizona's first-ever freshman to be named first team All-Pac-10.

2004 Season

College World Series (June 18-22): Hit .333 (4 for 12) with a run scored and three RBI at the CWS ... Went 3 for 4 with a RBI and three stolen bases in UA's 7-2 win over Arkansas ... Long Beach Super Regional (June 11-13): Led all players with a 5 for 10-weekend at the plate ... Finished with two RBI and four runs scored ... Drove in the tying runs in the 9th in UA's come-from-behind win on Friday and then scored the game winner one batter later ... NCAA South Bend Regional (June 4-6): Collected his first hit since April 16 with a pinch-hit RBI double against UC Irvine ... Played in all three games as a defensive replacement ... UT-Pan Am (April 16-18): Managed just two hits in 10 ABs (.200) but still drove in three runs, stole two bases and scored twice in the series sweep ... at UNLV (April 13-14): Hit .286 (2 for 7) with a RBI and three runs scored in two games ... UCLA (Apr. 8-10): Finished 3 for 6 (.500) with three RBI and a run scored in two appearances ... at Oregon State (Apr. 2-4): Made one start at third and went 1 for 3 ... Round Rock Classic (Mar. 11-13): Hit .357 (5 for 14) with a double, two RBI, two stolen bases and a run scored ... Sac State (Mar. 6-7): Went just 2 for 9 (.222) but tied for the team lead with five runs scored ... at #15 Baylor (Feb. 27-28): Finished the three-game series 2 for 6 (.333) with one RBI ... Drove home the winning run in the series clincher on Saturday with a ninth inning single ... UC Irvine (Feb. 20-22): Went just 1 for 13 (.077) in three starts ... #8 Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 13-15): Made one start in the outfield and one at 3B ... Went 3 for 7 (.429) with a team-high tying five runs scored and four RBI ... Went 3 for 5 (.600) with a home run, a solo shot on the first pitch of the game in the home half of the 1st, a team-high four RBI and three runs scored in UA's 12-10 loss on Sunday ... UC Riverside (Feb. 6-8): Opened the season with a 3 for 13 (.231) weekend out of the leadoff spot ... Recorded three RBI and a run scored against the Highlanders.

2003 Season: Led the Pac-10 in stolen bases with 25 ... Finished sixth in the conference in runs scored (71), ninth in total hits (84) and tied for third in triples (8)... Finished as the team leader in runs (71), doubles (16), stolen bases (25) and at bats (239) ... NCAA Fullerton Regional (May30-31): Went 4 for 7 (.571) with a pair of runs scored, two RBIs and a stolen base in the postseason ... at #6 Arizona State (May 23-25): Finished just 2 for 11 (.182), but drove in a pair of runs in the series ... Oregon State (May17-19): Collected just one hit, but still set the Arizona freshman record for runs scored at 69 with a pair of runs in the series ... Cal (May 2-4): Went 4 for 13 (.308) with two doubles, three runs scored and three RBIs ... Went 3 for 3 in stolen bases to improve to a team-best 23 for the season ... Broke Arizona's freshman single-season records in both doubles and stolen bases in the series ... at Sac State (April 28): Tied Arizona's 52-year old record with six runs scored in a single game in UA's 21-13 win. Finished 4 for 5 with a school-record-tying three doubles and his fifth home run of the season ... at #4 Stanford (April 25-27): Went 6 for 14 (.429) with a double, a triple, two stolen bases, two RBIs and five runs scored in three starts ... Finished the series finale on Sunday 3 for 5 with two runs and two stolen bases ...   at Washington State (April 17-19): Hit .273 (3 for 11) with a team-high five runs scored in three starts ... Sac State (April 14): Went 1 for 3 with two runs scored in the loss ... Washington (April 11-13): Batted .400 (4 for 10) with two triples, two RBIs and three runs scored ... Miami (OH) (April 4-6): Hit just .154 (2 for 13) in three starts, but still scored four runs and stole two bases in the series ... at UCLA (Mar 28-30): Hit .333 (4 for 12) with a team-high four runs scored ... Went 1 for 3 with a triple and a season-high four RBIs in Sunday's 12-10 win ... USC (Mar. 21-23): Finished the series 7 for 14 (.500) with a team-high four RBIs and two runs scored ... Went 4 for 5 with a season-high three RBIs in Sunday's series clinching win ... Drove in the game-winning run on Saturday with a one-out single in the ninth inning of the 6-5 ball game ... Finished the Saturday game 3 for 5 ...   New Mexico (Mar. 18-19): Went 4 for 8 (.500) in two games with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored ... Went 2 for 2 in stolen bases ... Hit his third home run of the season in the game ... Portland (Mar. 11-12): Hit .300 (3 for 10) with two RBIs and a team-high six runs scored in two games ... at #9 Texas (Mar. 7-9): Finished the series 3 for 13 (.231), but played well at third, making two fine plays to save runs from scoring ... #24 Texas A&M (Feb. 28- Mar. 2): Finished with a team-high seven hits while hitting .467 in three starts. Ended the series with six runs scored and was 4 for 4 in stolen bases ... Helped Arizona to the series win with a 4 for 6, 3-run day in the series finale on Sunday ... Oklahoma State (Feb. 24): Was the only Arizona player to collect multiple hits in the game with a 2 for 4 effort. Hit a triple, scored a run and recorded a RBI ... Minnesota (Feb. 21-23): Went 6 for 13 (.462) in three starts at third base. Posted two doubles, five RBIs and four runs scored ... Hit his second career home run, a two-run shot, in UA's 13-10 loss on the 21st ...   At UC Irvine (Feb. 14-16): Missed only game of the season in the series opener due to the flu ... Finished the series 2 for 8 with a run scored and a pair of walks ... #10 Baylor (Feb. 7-9): Went 6 for 15 for a .400 average and posted a .471 on-base percentage in three starts against the Bears ... Graduated from Camarillo High School where he earned three varsity letters for coach Scott Cline ... Was named All-Ventura County twice ... Was a three-time All-Pacific View League honoree ... Team captain all three varsity seasons ... Was named All-Southern Division I his senior season ... Set a Southern Division I record for runs in a season his senior year with 61 ... Also was an accomplished wide receiver at Camarillo ... Earned two varsity football letters for coach Dennis Deidmiller ... Named team captain his senior year ... Was an All-Southern Division 4, All-Ventura Country and all-league wide receiver after setting Camarillo records for receiving yards in a season and single game, as well as receptions in a season and game ... Also earned two varsity letters in basketball for coach Mike Prewitt ... Was team captain his senior year ... Was a member of Camarillo's Honor Roll for two years.
