Former Kettleer Named Manager of New York Yankees

Former Cotuit Kettleers catcher Joe Girardi, who played at Lowell Park in 1984, was named this week as the new manager of the New York Yankees, in replacement of former Yankee great helmsman Joe Torre.

APRIL 7, 2008 — Incoming Kettleer Zach Von Tersch picked up a big win versus North Carolina Sunday as the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets split a doubleheader with the Tar Heels. Full Story



March 16, 2008 — Sophomore second baseman Evan Crawford was named the Pepsi/Johnny Quik Classic All-Tournament Offensive Player, as chosen by the media. Crawford hit .464 for the tournament, tied for tops on the team, drove in eight runs and stole five bases to help the Indiana baseball team to a third-place finish. FULL STORY


Dallas Poulk led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a tie-breaking home run and four NC State pitchers combined on a four-hit gem to lead NC State past No. 12 Virginia 4-2 Sunday in the rubber game of a three-game Atlantic Coast Conference series at Doak Field at Dail Park. NC State won the series, two games to one, and improved to 8-3 overall and 2-1 in the ACC. Virginia fell to 11-2 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
