Coach Bob Todd says: "Josh came here as a highly touted defensive catcher. I felt like last year he really matured and developed a great deal. He is a hard worker that will definitely get playing time. He adds a lot of quality depth to our catching."

2005 (Redshirt Season)
Did not play in any games as a true freshman ... gained valuable experience as a bullpen catcher and traveled with the team throughout most of the season ... named an OSU Scholar-Athlete ... played with the Grand Lakes Mariners of the Great Lakes League.

Margaretta High School
First team all-district selection and First Team Sandusky Bay Conference ... batted .384 with seven doubles and three triples his senior year ... holds the single season doubles record ... had an incredible .994 fielding percentage and 185 putouts his senior year ... team captain for a squad that went 17-7 as a senior and finished as the district runner-up in back-to-back seasons ... three-year starter and letterwinner for head coach Steve Gravenhorst and the Polar Bears ... earned an academic letter and was on the merit roll ... also excelled in football, where he led his team in interceptions and was an honorable mention selection for conference and district honors ... vice president of SADD and was active in his church youth group ... played summer baseball with American Legion Post 83 in Sandusky.
