The
2002 Kettleers came out of the starting gate on fire in
early June, winning 13 straight games to break the all-time
Cape League record for most consecutive wins to start
a season.
Things did not go easy for Cotuit from that point on as
the Kettleers won just 10 more games through the end of
the regular season in August, eventually bowing out to
rival Wareham in the Western Division Playoff Series.
Regardless of the ups and downs, Cotuit boasted the likes
of Stetson's Bryan Snyder and the league's batting champ
in Pete Stonard (Alabama) who at the end of the season
transferred to San Diego State before heading to the professional
ranks.
