This Starkville-born junior righthander was expected to take on a significant relief role in the Bulldog bullpen • Highly-competitive hurler who has worked to refine his drop-down delivery style he developed during a productive season of summer league baseball in 2002 • Enters his junior campaign with 23 career appearances, second-most on the staff, with an 0-1 record, one save and a 3.25 earned run average • One of three Starkville products on the 2004 MSU roster.

    In 2003, he was ranked second on the club with 23 appearances as a sophomore, all in a relief role • Posted an 0-1 record with a save and a 3.38 earned run average • Struck out 38 and walked 14 in 37.1 innings • Blanked his first seven opponents, allowing one hit and three walks in eight innings of relief pitching • Took the loss in an extra-inning 8-7 setback at Memphis (Mar. 19), his first career decision • Worked a career-longest 5.1 innings and registered a season-high five strikeouts at Florida (Apr. 27) • Earned his first career save with 3.2 innings of scoreless relief pitching against Winthrop (May 13) • Worked 1.2 innings against LSU in the SEC Tournament (May 24) • Made relief appearances in the NCAA Starkville Regional against Middle Tennessee (May 30) and North Carolina (June 1), blanking opposing hitters in 3.1 innings of relief.

    In 2002, Ramsey made six relief appearances in his first collegiate season, compiling a 2.57 earned run average, second-lowest on the MSU staff • Registered three strikeouts in nine innings • Retired the three batters he faced, one via strikeout, in his MSU debut against Jacksonville State (Mar. 2) • Also worked one-inning stints against Mississippi Valley State (Apr. 10 and May 8), at Southern Miss (Apr. 17) and against West Alabama (Apr. 24) • Worked a season-longest 2.0 innings and allowed one earned run in an SEC Tournament appearance against Alabama (May 22).

    He sat out the 2001 campaign as a freshman redshirt after earning a berth on the MSU team as a walkon during fall drills in 2000.

HIGH SCHOOL
Four-year letterman and two-year starter at Starkville Academy playing for coach Jeff Williams • Earned first-team MPSA All-State honors after leading the Volunteers with a .417 batting average • Legged out 13 doubles and stole 11 bases • Also carded a 5-4 worksheet with a save, a 2.46 ERA and a team-high 70 strikeouts • Earned all-conference honors as a pitcher and as an outfielder • Also named to the Academy All-Star Team and claimed Academy North 4A and team MVP plaudits • Hit .375 and earned all-conference distinction as a pitcher with a 6-0 record his junior season • Tabbed as the team's most improved player as a sophomore • Also competed successfully in football and basketball, earning all-conference and all-star status in both sports • Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and Fellowship of Christian Athletes member • Recipient of the scholar-athlete award presented by the MSU chapter of the National Football Foundation.
