BOURNE, MA — The Cotuit Kettleers fell hard to the host Bourne Braves at Coady Field this afternoon (Thursday), as the Cape Cod Baseball League opened its 120th season.
Citadel righty Ken Egleton took the loss after giving up eight runs in four innings of work. Seven of those runs were earned on five walks, eight hits and one hit batsman. Adam Balkan and Geoff Strickland also tossed for the Kettleers.
LSU’s Bryan Harris went 2-4, as did Tennessee’s Chase Headley. Centerfielder Justin Maxwell went 1-4 and Calvin Beamon and Strickland each went 1-3.
Beamon and Headley were the only two Cotuit baseruners to successfully steal in the ballgame.
