(Kettle Talk with Alexa Galloway PREGAME and POSTGAME)
(Video Game Recap by Connor Sullivan HERE)
- Elliot Caldwell (Spartanburg Methodist) took infield for the Kettleers during warm ups. Caldwell left the first scrimmage with an apparent finger injury, but seems to be recovering quickly
- Chatham wore the Cape Cod red uniforms in honor of the military; every Cape League home team will wear red uniforms on Fridays
- Danny Diekroeger (Stanford) and Will Remillard (Coastal Carolina) made their season debuts for the Kettleers: Diekroeger went 0-1 and Remillard drove in the game tying run with his ground out to second in the ninth inning
- Cotuit left eight runners on base: in the seventh they left the bases loaded
- Yale Rosen (Washington State) hit the first homerun of the Cape League season
- All the batters in the Kettleers starting lineup were lefty
- The Kettleers turned an unusual double play going 5-2-5-1-6 on the double play. The Chatham runner was caught in a run down off a grounder, and when he was tagged out the other runner wandered off third and was tagged out to complete the inning ending double play
- Jared Walsh (Georgia) went from being the Opening Day pitcher to pinch-hitting for Gali Cribbs Jr. in the top of the seventh. Walsh managed to draw a walk to load the bases
- Tim Kiene (Maryland) went 2-4 with a double, and a single. He also scored a run
- Patrick Mazeika (Stetson) was robbed of a wall ball hit by Jimmy Pickens (Michigan State) in the fourth inning. It was good enough to score Kiene from third on a sacrifice fly
