Cotuit (0-2) and Yarmouth-Dennis (0-2) face off at Lowell Park on Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m. Here’s what you need to know about the Red Sox.
Results:
June 11 at Harwich: 7-2 loss.
June 12 vs. Falmouth: 3-0 loss.
GAME 1: James Mulry (Northeastern) held the Red Sox scoreless through seven innings, as the Mariners coasted to a 7-2 win on opening night. Y-D fell behind 7-0 after three innings, which would prove to me more than enough to get the victory. Bryan Bonnell started for the Red Sox, and pitched only 2 1/3 innings while allowing five runs.
GAME 2: The wasn’t great in game one for Y-D, but it was even more stagnant in its home opener against Falmouth. The Commodores held Y-D to just two hits for the entire game. The Red Sox loaded the bases in the eighth inning with the help of a hit and two walks, but nothing came of it in the shutout loss.
