Jake Fincher (North Carolina State) and Adam Whitt (Nevada) were named to the 2014 West Division All-Star Team on Saturday.
Each of the league’s 10 coaches gathered at Dennis-Yarmouth High School on Saturday morning to make the selections.
Fincher makes his second-straight all-star selection and will start in center field for the West. This season, Fincher is batting .345, good for seventh in the league.
Whitt has been dominant on the mound, leading the league in ERA (0.98) and tied for the league lead in wins (4). He’s recorded three saves and struck out 24 batters in 27.2 innings, while only issuing 10 walks.
Tres Barrera (Texas) and John Norwood (Vanderbilt) were chosen for the Home Run Hitting Contest, which will take place at 5 p.m., shortly before the game itself.
Barrera has three home runs in just eight games this season. He won the College Home Run Derby on July 3 at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb.
Norwood has hit two home runs in 10 games with the Kettleers, not including the five he hit entirely out of Fenway Park at Cape League Workout Day.
The All-Star Game will be held at Doran Park in Bourne and start at approximately 6 p.m.
