A five-run Kettleer seventh inning wasn’t enough to push Cotuit (0-4) past the Bourne Braves (4-0) Tuesday night, as the Kettleers lost 7-5 at Lowell Park in Cotuit.

Appearing in relief in the eighth inning, Colton Hock (Stanford) surrendered a run in the top of the eighth, and then two runs in the top of the ninth, to take the loss for the Kettleers in the 7-5 contest.

With the bases loaded, Hagen Owenby (East Tennessee State), was the early hero in the seventh, knocking a bases-loaded single to scored two Kettleer runners. Owenby batted 2-for-4 in the loss with two singles and one run. Cal Stevenson (Arizona) also batted 2-for-4 in the loss, with two singles and one run scored as well.

Taylor Lehman got the start for Cotuit, lasting five innings. Lehman allowed four runs on six hits, three earned. He also walked two and struck out two. He was follwed in relief by Eddie Muhl (George Washington), who lasted two and a third inning for the Kettleers. Muhl allowed just one run on two hits, the run was earned. Hock closed the game for the Kettleers with a line of one and two thirds innings pitched, three runs surrendered, two earned.

Cotuit posted five hits in the loss, Bourne tallied 10.
