1995 Cotuit Championship Team to Be Reunited

Celebration of the 1995 Cotuit Kettleers Championship

Everyone looks forward to a “reunion” of any kind. An extra special reunion will take place July 18, 2020 as the 1995 CCBL Championship Cotuit Kettleers team will return to Lowell Park to celebrate their accomplishment.

“While being in the Cape this past summer and watching our son play, I reminisced about my years at Cotuit and how awesome it was, not only for me and my family but for the guys that played in Cotuit, The more I thought about my time coaching at Cotuit it occurred to me that 2020 would be 25 years since we won the championship,” explained Mike Coutts, the coach of that special team.

Coutts the current head softball coach at the University of Maine added “Having been involved in coaching my whole life I have always believed that life comes down to 2 things 1) relationships and 2) the impact you have on others.”

When presented with the idea of a possible reunion, the Cotuit Athletic Association agreed that it would be an outstanding occasion and set aside the July 18th Falmouth game as the day to honor those that brought home a championship to Lowell Park.

“Winning a championship is beyond words sometimes,” said Coutts. “I know that that summer was special for those guys and the relationships they formed and the impact they had on each will last them a lifetime. Winning is hard and to win a championship in the Cape is probably the best experience in sports those guys have ever had.”

And in a little over 7 months, those players will have the opportunity to revisit the site of their special accomplishment and relive their glorious memories.
